چکیده

Objective: To test the efficacy of Ingelvac PRRS ATP (Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc, St Joseph, Missouri), a modified live virus (MLV) vaccine, to protect against respiratory disease and lesions induced by challenge of growing pigs with one of three porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) field isolates (SDSU73, VR2385, and Mn-01-A1). On the basis of genome sequencing of open reading frame (ORF) 5, these three isolates vary considerably from each other (72% to 86% homology) and from the Ingelvac PRRS ATP vaccine (76% to 89% homology).

Sequence Analysis of M2 Gene of Avian Influenza Virus Strain (A/Chicken/Iran/101/98 (H9N2)) as an Oil Vaccine Seed

In this study, the full-length M2 gene of the avian influenza virus (H9N2) was isolated, analyzed and studied in detail. Total RNA was extracted and cDNA of the M2 mRNA was obtained by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) using random hexamer oligoes; specific primers were used for amplification of the M2 open reading frame (ORF) region. PCR was able to amplify the desirable...

Development of a heteroduplex mobility assay to identify field isolates of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus with nucleotide sequences closely related to those of modified live-attenuated vaccines.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome has been devastating the swine industry since the late 1980s. The disease has been controlled, to some extent, through the use of modified live-attenuated (MLV) vaccines once available. However, such a practice periodically resulted in isolation or detection of vaccine-like viruses from pigs as determined by a partial genomic sequencing. In this stu...

Efficacy of a Spanish modified live virus vaccine against homologous porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus infection

The objective of this study was to determine the protective properties of the Spanish MLV vaccine Amervac-PRRS against porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) infection with the homologous wild-type strain 5710. The experimental design comprised eighteen 3-week old pigs randomly divided into three groups. Animals from group A received one dose of MLV vaccine Amervac-PRRS on...

Impact of a modified-live porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus vaccine intervention on a population of pigs infected with a heterologous isolate.

The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of a therapeutic vaccine intervention with a modified-live porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) vaccine on the dynamics of a heterologous viral infection in a population of pigs, and to determine the clinical and virological response of previously exposed and vaccinated pigs against a second virulent heterologous c...

Evaluation of the efficacy of an attenuated live vaccine against highly pathogenic porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus in young pigs.

Highly pathogenic porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (HP-PRRSV) is characterized by high fever and high mortality in pigs of all ages and has severely affected the pork industry of China in the last few years. An attenuated HP-PRRSV strain, TJM, was obtained by passaging HP-PRRSV strain TJ on MARC-145 cells for 92 passages. Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (P...
